Like most successful people, you’ve achieved much in some areas but could use some guidance in others. Everyone can use some help from time to time. Let an expert in her field, Andrea Ornelas, give you the guidance and skills to empower you to have greater success in your relationships and your career, as well as increased self-confidence and peace of mind. Andrea Ornelas utilizes a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Mindfulness Meditation to meet your specific needs. All of these techniques are Evidence Based Psychotherapies. Evidence Based Psychotherapy means that the technique is based on peer-reviewed scientific evidence. Whether you need a licensed therapist to help you with stress reduction, relationship problems, anger issues, dissatisfaction with your job, or depression/anxiety therapy, Andrea Ornelas is just a phone call away.
Many of my clients find that time and transportation are the biggest obstacles to beginning therapy. I use a HIPAA Compliant Video Conferencing System that allows for confidentiality while having a therapy session online. You may use this system via an app on your smartphone, tablet, or on a browser using your phone or computer. Insurance companies have begun to cover these sessions as well. All of my sessions have transitioned to Online/Telehealth since March 2020. Please see the COVID-19 Response section for further details
My goal as a Therapist is to create a supportive environment in which clients can explore their emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit their full potential. I use an open-minded, holistic approach to client wellness and consider the client's work life, family traditions, cultural and spiritual beliefs, and personal goals. As stated above all of the therapy modalities used in my office are Evidence Based Therapies.
Why I Love What I Do
Why I Love What I Do
I will treat with great care all of the information that you share with me. It is your legal right that our sessions and my records about you are kept private. That is why I ask you to sign a 'release of records' form before I can talk about you or send my records about you to anyone else. In general, I will tell no one what you tell me. I will not even reveal that you are receiving treatment from me. There are limits to confidentiality that arise very rarely. These limits are: if you make a threat to harm yourself or someone else; if you disclose knowledge of abuse or neglect of a child or elderly person; if your records are subpoenaed by the court.
We will usually meet for a 45 minute session once per week, then less often. An appointment is a commitment to our work, and a cancelled appointment delays your progress. I consider our meetings very important and ask that you do the same. Please try not to miss sessions if you can possibly help it. When you must cancel, please give me at least 24 hours notice. I reserve the right to charge you for missed appointments which will not be covered by your insurance company.
By the end of our second session, I will tell you how I see your case at this point and how I think we should proceed. I expect us to plan our work together. In our treatment plan we will list the areas to work on, our goals, the methods we will use, and the time and monetary commitments. I expect us to agree on a plan that we will both work hard to follow. From time to time, we will look together at our progress and goals. If we think we need to, we can then change our treatment plan. Due to each person's unique needs the time spent in counseling varies. I use a strengths based, brief therapy approach that enables you to reach your full potential at a faster rate. The average person spends 6-12 sessions in therapy with me.
Contact me to find out if I am contracted with your insurance plan. I am a provider for Lyra Health and Modern Health.
Your cost per session will depend upon the length of your session. My rate per Online Therapy Session is $120 for 45 minutes or $150 for 60 minutes.
I do not currently treat couples in my practice. I typically work with individuals aged 16 and older. In the past I worked with a wider range of clients but have specialized my practice over the years.
Despite our individual beliefs, it has been determined by governing boards that telehealth services are the most responsible form of treatment at this time. In order to reduce the risk to you, I have chosen to proceed in this manner until further notice. I offer telehealth services through a HIPAA complaint platform. It is very easy to use and you do not need to download anything to prepare. We both make a commitment to maintain your confidentiality so that this format feels safe for you.
